Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 4, 2026
Introduction
Mirrors ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the Mirrors mobile application (the "App"). We believe that your personal information belongs to you, and we have designed our App to reflect that principle.
Our Privacy Commitment
Mirrors is built on a foundation of privacy and user respect. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal data. All information generated through your use of the App is stored locally on your device and remains under your exclusive control. We have no access to your reading history, preferences, or any other personal information.
Information Storage and Processing
When you use Mirrors, certain information is generated and stored solely on your device. This includes your selected news categories, reading preferences, saved articles, and any customization settings you configure within the App. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up using your device's operating system backup features (such as iCloud). We do not have access to this backed-up data, as it is encrypted and controlled entirely by Apple's ecosystem.
The App processes news content by fetching articles from publicly available news sources and presenting them to you in a curated format. This content retrieval is performed directly between your device and the news sources, without any intermediary servers that could monitor or log your reading activity. We do not track which articles you read, how long you spend reading them, or any other behavioral data.
Data We Do Not Collect
To be absolutely clear, Mirrors does not collect, process, or have access to any of the following: your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or any other personally identifiable information; your reading history, including which articles you view, read, or save; your search queries or browsing behavior within the App; your device's location, either precise or approximate; your contacts, photos, or any other data stored on your device outside of the App; any analytics or usage statistics about how you interact with the App; your IP address or any other network identifiers; or any demographic information such as age, gender, or interests.
Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any information with third parties because we do not collect any information to share. The App does not integrate any third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or data brokers. When you read news articles through Mirrors, the content is sourced from publicly available news APIs and RSS feeds. These sources may have their own privacy policies governing their content, but we do not share any information about you with these sources beyond what is technically necessary to retrieve publicly available content (such as standard HTTP requests that any web browser would make).
Mirrors does not display advertisements and does not use any advertising identifiers or tracking technologies. We do not participate in any ad networks or data marketplaces. Your use of the App is entirely private and free from commercial surveillance.
Children's Privacy
Mirrors does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we do not collect any personal information, the App can be used by individuals of all ages without privacy concerns. Parents and guardians can be confident that their children's use of Mirrors will not result in any data collection or privacy risks.
Data Security
Since all data generated by your use of Mirrors is stored locally on your device, the security of that data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including device encryption, passcode protection, and biometric authentication (such as Face ID or Touch ID). We recommend that you use these security features to protect your device and the data stored on it. We have designed the App to minimize data generation and to ensure that any data that is created remains under your control.
Your Rights and Control
Because all data is stored on your device, you have complete control over it. You can delete the App at any time, which will remove all associated data from your device. You can also clear your saved articles and preferences within the App's settings. There is no account to delete or data to request from us because we do not maintain any user accounts or store any data on our servers.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted within the App and on our website, and the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy will be updated. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy. If we make any material changes that affect how we handle information, we will notify you through the App or by other means.
International Users
Mirrors is designed to be used globally. Because we do not collect or transfer any personal data, there are no cross-border data transfer concerns. All data remains on your device, regardless of where you are located. This approach ensures compliance with privacy regulations worldwide, including the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other data protection laws.
Technical Information
While we do not collect personal information, certain technical interactions are necessary for the App to function. When the App retrieves news content from public sources, standard internet protocols apply, which may involve your device's IP address being visible to those sources as part of normal HTTP requests. However, we do not log, store, or have access to this information. These technical interactions are equivalent to visiting a website in your web browser and are necessary for the basic functionality of retrieving publicly available content.
